Antenova and 2J Antennas are part of the RF & Wireless Cluster owned by the FTSE250 company DiscoverIE Group PLC. As a member of our team, you will provide Application Engineering and Lab support to our customers primarily based in North America and South America. Your Engineering support will primarily assist the Embedded Antenna Sales team. You will also collaborate with other members in the Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Product Management and Operations teams. Location – Our lab facilities in Phoenix, AZ.
Job Duties –
• Work closely with our Americas Sales team. Be the technical support/reference for all customer design opportunities
• Provide product and technical support to customers during their development process
• Provide resolution to design layout, performance, and manufacturing problems
• Review customer architectures, Gerber and Step design files and provide technical recommendations
• Conduct Passive (RF) and OTA (Active Over the Air) measurements on customer products
• Determine antenna matching networks for optimal antenna performance in customer devices
• Provide written reports and advise on performance improvements and follow up support
• Provide on-site support, whether at customer facilities or supplier facilities, during design, pre-production and initial production stages to ensure quality and performance
• Monitor current developments in RF and antenna research
• Identify new design methods and processes capable of reducing costs, new RF materials and reducing product development times
• Keep up to date of LTE, 5G and other emerging wireless standards in the IoT market space
• Develop relationships with leading wireless module vendors
• Coordinate on a regular basis with other members of global Engineering team
• Potential domestic and international travel as required
Requirements –
• Electrical Engineering Degree, in antenna and RF technologies
• 3 years’ experience in antenna engineering
• In-depth knowledge of use of Antenna test instrumentation and software, and Anechoic chambers/lab facilities
• Interpersonal skills – Effectively build relationships with external and internal customers
• Collaborative skills – Known for working with team members and effectively assist with Engineering issues
• Adaptability – Rapidly adjust tasks and priorities, according to customer and team needs
• Self motivation – Seeking to take on responsibilities and follow through to completion
• Perceptiveness – Ability to grasp information, expand knowledge base, and develop core competencies
